How to use it

  1. Three numeric columns — X, Y and bubble size — with an optional name column first and a group column last.
  2. A common use: X is order value, Y is win rate and bubbles are inquiry volume, to find markets worth more investment.
  3. If bubbles overlap, reduce the largest bubble size or hide the names.

Data format example

Copying from a spreadsheet gives this format, with tabs between columns:

Market	Avg. order	Win rate	Inquiries	Region
United States	8200	14	120	Americas
Germany	9400	19	64	Europe

Frequently asked questions

How do I bring in data from Excel?

Select the range including headers in Excel, WPS or Google Sheets, copy and paste it into the data box; tabs are detected automatically, and CSV or comma- or semicolon-separated text works too. Thousands separators, currency symbols and percent signs are removed.

Is there a watermark? Can I put it in PowerPoint?

No watermark. PNG exports at twice the chosen size and SVG is vector, so both stay sharp in PowerPoint, Word or print; you can also copy the image and paste it directly.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Data is parsed and drawn in your browser. A share link carries the data after the # in the URL, which is never sent to the server; only people with the link can see it.

How is bubble size calculated?

Bubble area is proportional to the third column (the diameter scales with the square root), so doubling a value doubles how big it looks without exaggerating differences. You can change the largest bubble size.

Bubble chart maker practical guide and common questions

What does a Bubble chart maker do?

The first three numeric columns are X, Y and bubble size, the first text column names each bubble and a second groups them; bubble area is proportional to the value (diameter scales with the square root).

Marketers and managers building market opportunity matrices, product portfolios or customer tiers.

How do I use this Bubble chart maker?

Three numeric columns — X, Y and bubble size — with optional names and groups; bubble area scales with the value.

How should I interpret the results?

Bubble sizes cannot be negative; when values differ widely the smallest bubbles get tiny, so raise the largest bubble size.

Where is the work performed, and which services receive data?

Bubble sizes and groups are calculated and drawn locally; market data is never uploaded.
