How to use it
- Drop WebP images into the area above, click to choose them, or paste them.
- Output is already set to PNG, which keeps transparency; switch to JPEG or WebP if you only need a smaller file.
- Check each file's size and dimensions, then download one by one or all as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
Does WebP to PNG keep the transparent background?
Yes. PNG supports a full alpha channel, so transparent areas and soft edges in the WebP are kept exactly and never turn white.
Why is the PNG larger than the WebP?
PNG is lossless and keeps every pixel, so photos usually come out several times larger than the WebP. For photos that only need to open everywhere, choose JPEG instead.
PNG or JPG?
Choose PNG for logos, icons, screenshots and cut-outs that need transparency; choose JPG for ordinary photos and product shots to keep files small. If unsure, PNG adds no further loss.
Can animated WebP be converted?
Only the first frame is exported as a still image; it cannot be turned into an animated GIF or APNG.
Will my images be uploaded to the server?
No. Images are decoded, resized and re-encoded in your browser and downloaded straight away, which suits unreleased product photos and client material.
JPEG, WebP or PNG?
WebP gives the smallest photos and suits websites; use JPEG for older systems, some marketplaces and email; use PNG for icons, logos and screenshots with transparency.
Does processing remove location and other metadata?
Yes. Re-encoded images no longer carry EXIF data (capture time, camera model, GPS location and so on), and orientation is corrected automatically. Files kept as the original are the exception.
