How to use it
- Drop WebP images into the area above, click to choose them, or paste them.
- Under Output choose JPEG or PNG: JPEG is smaller and opens everywhere; choose PNG to keep a transparent background.
- Check each file's size and dimensions, then download one by one or all as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
Why convert WebP to JPG?
Many websites serve WebP to save bandwidth, but some older software, marketplace back offices, Office versions and email clients cannot open or accept it. A JPG opens and uploads almost everywhere.
Does converting reduce quality?
JPG is lossy; at the default quality of 92 the difference is usually invisible. PNG is lossless but larger. A WebP original is already compressed, so conversion cannot restore detail that was lost.
What happens to a transparent background in JPG?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose, white by default. Choose PNG to keep transparency.
Can animated WebP be converted?
Only the first frame is exported as a still image; it cannot be turned into an animated GIF.
Will my images be uploaded to the server?
No. Images are decoded, resized and re-encoded in your browser and downloaded straight away, which suits unreleased product photos and client material.
JPEG, WebP or PNG?
WebP gives the smallest photos and suits websites; use JPEG for older systems, some marketplaces and email; use PNG for icons, logos and screenshots with transparency.
Does processing remove location and other metadata?
Yes. Re-encoded images no longer carry EXIF data (capture time, camera model, GPS location and so on), and orientation is corrected automatically. Files kept as the original are the exception.
