Start with the facts needed to identify the requirements
Electrical products can have different household, industrial, radio or medical requirements. Establish model, composition, use, country, importer and shipment configuration before checking sector laws and regulators. A generic certificate is not every market-access requirement.
Use the checklist for team handoffs
Sales establishes use and market; product and engineering provide specifications and materials; compliance or the importer verifies scope; logistics checks dangerous-goods and carrier conditions. Exports retain your facts, missing information, official sources and review dates for handoff.
Frequently asked questions
Can this tool establish certification or permission to export?
No. It organizes work by category, destination and transport. It examines no certificates, samples or transaction evidence and searches no live lists. Items require verification by the importer, a compliance reviewer or the appropriate authority.
Does every product need CE, FCC and FDA?
No. CE depends on specific EU product legislation; FCC routes depend on RF functions and device categories; FDA scope depends on use, composition and claims. A broad category does not replace product-level classification.
Can household plug and voltage tables specify industrial equipment?
No. Household references do not determine industrial power design. Verify phases, nameplate voltage and frequency, earthing, connectors, fixed wiring and installation conditions. An ordinary plug adapter does not convert voltage or frequency.
Are English-only labels sufficient?
There is no universal answer. EU requirements depend on the actual sales country and sector. Food, devices and general goods differ. GB, US and other markets also need sector-specific review of instructions, warnings, responsible parties, origin and language.
Does entering an HS code establish export-control classification?
No. HS/HTS is a customs classification, not an ECCN or dual-use classification. End user, end use, technology origin and re-export facts may affect licensing. This tool makes no automatic classification or licensing determination.
Does no name match mean there is no sanctions risk?
No. Review names, aliases, relevant entities and ownership/control, then read the underlying restrictions. This tool provides official resources, not live screening or a no-match certificate.
Does a UN38.3 test summary guarantee air acceptance?
No. Review model, chemistry, capacity or lithium content, condition, configuration, quantity, mode and carrier limits. Damaged, sample and recycling batteries need specialist review. An SDS does not replace the corresponding test summary.
Are my product details sent to a server or AI?
Checklist calculations stay in the browser without form submission or AI calls. Prompt copying is deliberate; opening official links or pasting content into another service is a separate action.
