Frequently asked questions
How do I scan a QR code from an image on a computer?
Drag the screenshot or photo into the area above, choose the file, or copy the image and press Ctrl+V / ⌘+V. The content appears within seconds; no phone or app is needed.
Which codes can it read?
Two-dimensional: QR Code, Data Matrix, Aztec and PDF417. Linear: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Codabar, ITF-14 and GS1 DataBar. One code is read per image.
Why does a code fail to scan?
Common causes are blur, glare, a code that is too small, a cropped edge or no quiet zone around it. Try a sharper original, crop to the code, or move the camera closer. Straighten a strongly tilted barcode and retry.
Is a scanned link safe to open?
The tool only shows the stored address; it never opens it automatically or judges whether the site is trustworthy. Check the domain before clicking, especially payment or sign-in links from unknown sources.
Can I look up product details from a barcode?
The tool reads the EAN or UPC number, checks its check digit and offers links to search the number on Google and Amazon. A barcode is only a number; product name and brand must be checked in the results or a GS1 database.
Are images or camera frames uploaded?
No. Decoding happens in your browser and neither images nor camera frames are uploaded. The camera starts only when you click and stops when you press Stop or leave the page.
