Pallet sizes and pallets per container
Europe mostly uses the 1200 × 800 EUR pallet, North America the 48 × 40 inch pallet, and Asia 1100 × 1100 and 1200 × 1000. The pallet size sets cartons per layer and pallets per container.

Wooden pallet weight varies with timber and moisture. Export wooden pallets must meet ISPM 15 treatment.

Calculated from inside length and width with pallets mixed lengthways and crossways and no handling clearance; real loads are often 0–1 pallet fewer. Double-stack only stackable goods under half the inside height.
Frequently asked questions
How many cartons fit on a EUR pallet?
It depends on the carton size and height limit. A 40 × 30 × 25 cm carton fits 8 per layer and 6 layers within 1.8 m, so 48 cartons. When cartons do not divide the pallet evenly, mixing directions often fits a few more.
How many EUR pallets fit in a 20 ft container?
One layer holds 11 (7 crossways + 4 lengthways); a 40 ft holds 23–25. Stackable goods low enough can be double-stacked.
Can cartons overhang the pallet?
Usually not, as overhanging cartons get crushed in transit. Some customers allow 10–25 mm per side; enter it as the allowed overhang.

No. All calculations and the 3D preview run in your browser; a share link only carries the sizes and quantities you entered.
Results use nominal sizes for quoting, booking and pre-loading estimates; the forwarder, carrier and loading team have the final say.
