How to print FNSKU labels
- Find each FNSKU (starting X00) in Seller Central, enter it as the barcode data and add the product name and New.
- Pick the stock: Letter 30-up (Avery 5160), A4 21–65-up or 2 × 1 in thermal. For several SKUs write "FNSKU,quantity, title,New" per line in the bulk box.
- Tick label outlines for an alignment test first, then print; use Skip first labels for a partly used sheet.
Amazon FNSKU label requirements
- Each label needs the Code 128 barcode, the FNSKU, the product name and the condition (such as New). Label printing here uses that format by default.
- Labels should be between 1 × 2 in and 2 × 3 in. Letter sheets usually use 30-up (Avery 5160), A4 sheets 21–44-up, and thermal printers 2 × 1 in.
- Use removable adhesive on a flat surface and cover the original UPC/EAN so the warehouse does not scan the wrong code.
- Find the FNSKU in Seller Central under Manage FBA Inventory → Print item labels; it is usually 10 characters starting with X00.

Print size and scanning requirements
X is the width of the narrowest bar. GS1 allows retail codes from 80% to 200%; codes printed smaller or with truncated bars may not scan. Use dark bars on a light background: red, orange and yellow bars are invisible to red-light scanners. Test-scan the first print.
| Type | X-dimension | Bar height | Quiet zone |
|---|---|---|---|
| EAN-13 / UPC-A | 0.264 – 0.660 mm(80% – 200%) | About 22.85 mm at 100% | Left 11X, right 7X (UPC-A 9X each side) |
| ITF-14 | 0.495 – 1.016 mm | At least 32 mm | 10X each side plus bearer bars |
| GS1-128 | Logistics labels 0.495 – 1.016 mm | At least 32 mm | 10X each side |
| Code 128 / FNSKU | Ideally at least 0.25 mm | At least 6 mm or 15% of the length | 10X each side |
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from printing in Seller Central?
The content is the same (Code 128, FNSKU, title, condition). Here you can mix several SKUs and quantities in one run, skip used labels on a partial sheet, nudge the print offset, and choose from more label stocks.
How do I set up a thermal printer?
Choose the 2 × 1 in or 2.25 × 1.25 in template, set the paper size to match the label, scale to Actual size and margins to None. Test the first label and use the print offset to correct drift.
Can I use the barcodes commercially? Do they expire?
Yes: free, no watermark, commercial use allowed, and they never expire. A barcode is just your number drawn as bars, created in your browser without passing through our server.
What if the printed barcode does not scan?
The usual causes are printing too small, truncated bar height, crowded quiet zones or poor contrast. Print larger following the size table, set the print scale to Actual size / 100%, and use a 203 dpi or better thermal printer.
SVG, PNG or printed labels?
Give designers SVG for packaging and print (vector, scales cleanly); use PNG in Excel, web pages and Word; use label printing for office or thermal printers, laid out at true millimetre size.
